De Nederlandse kunstenaar Noah Latif Lamp (Amsterdam, 1990) groeide op als een soort nomade. Als man met een mengeling van cultuur, ras en identiteit was hij van weinig anders zeker dan van het feit dat hij kunstenaar zou worden. Hij heeft de media doorkruist om te werken met sculpturen, olieverf, installaties en performances. Zijn werk gaat vaak over de harde realiteit van onze huidige mondiale samenleving. Een van zijn eerste grote performances in 2015 betrof het brandmerken van zichzelf als een "rite de passage" in een kunstwereld die hem nog niet serieus had genomen.

Naar aanleiding van zijn huidige tentoonstelling Open Source in Cc Strombeek, creëerde Lamp een nieuwe performance. Ook hier tast de kunstenaar radicaal maatschappelijke grenzen af door middel van zijn lichaam. Lamp zal 24 uur lang verblijven voor de ingang van het cultuurcentrum. Gevonden materialen uit de gemeente en interacties met toevallige passanten en bezoekers vormen zijn enige “gereedschap” voor deze actie.

En tant qu'homme issu d'un mélange de culture, de race et d'identité, il n'était guère sûr de devenir un artiste. Il a traversé les médias pour travailler avec la sculpture, la peinture à l'huile, les installations et les performances. Son travail traite souvent des dures réalités de notre société mondiale actuelle. L'une de ses premières grandes performances, en 2015, consistait à se marquer comme un "rite de passage" dans un monde de l'art qui ne l'avait pas encore pris au sérieux.

À l'occasion de son exposition actuelle Open Source au Cc Strombeek, Lamp a créé une nouvelle performance. Ici aussi, l'artiste explore radicalement les frontières sociales à travers son corps. Les lampes passeront 24 heures devant l'entrée du centre culturel. Les matériaux trouvés dans la municipalité et les interactions avec les passants et les visiteurs sont ses seuls outils pour cette action.

On the occasion of his current exhibition Open Source in Cc Strombeek, Lamp created a new performance. Here too, the artist radically explores social boundaries through his body. Lamp will spend 24 hours in front of the entrance to the cultural centre. Found materials from the municipality and interactions with random passers-by and visitors are his only "tools" for this action.
